This is not just yoga—it is an integrative healing modality that supports the physical, emotional, mental, and energetic dimensions of well-being.
"Jen, owner of Nurse of Yoga, is an amazing teacher. She really knows the body and how it works, explains it clearly and has knowledge of how to release the fascia in a way that is gentle but effective. I have taken a few classes and have had great results and released a lot of tension each time. The space is really nice and she also has many tools that are specifically for body work, which is incredible. Jen is also just a great human being, so intelligent and perceptive, generous with her time and attention. She definitely is a gem!"

"Jennifer recently opened her Nurse of Yoga studio in Mendocino, next to the Mendocino Volunteer Fire Department. Her shop is located downstairs, and has an inviting yet relaxed atmosphere when you step in. Jennifer has a unique approach to her yoga instruction, focused more on myofascial release and tension release than finding a perfect Asana. Both locals and visitors to the Mendocino area looking for a gentle but effective healing session can pop into one of Jennifer's daily classes (with room for up to a dozen or so people in class) to release knots, stretch, and work on imbalances in the body. She can accommodate individuals, couples, or friends and has a friendly, down to earth vibe that makes her instruction particularly beneficial for non-yogis, but all levels of experience will benefit from practicing with her. Personally, I was struggling with a tight psoas muscle and Jennifer helped me to relieve my pain in just two sessions following her guidance both in session and at home. Her practice is unique among local yoga studio offerings and definitely worth checking out while you're in the area! "

"I had a great experience doing yoga with Jen. She took the time to meet me where I was in my practice and focused on my specific problem areas. I really appreciated how she incorporated fascial work into our session - it made a big difference in how I felt afterward. I’m excited to see her again and can’t wait to continue learning from her! Looking forward to more online opportunities."

I was born with hip dysplasia and lived with chronic pain from a young age. Doctors pulled me out of sports and recommended surgery, but nothing truly addressed the root of my pain. By my mid-20s, I was at my heaviest—180 lbs—and struggling with low back pain and sciatica.
I became a registered nurse to better understand the body and the healthcare system. But I quickly realized that pills weren’t healing people—and that most doctors weren’t truly treating pain. That realization pushed me to explore holistic and integrative approaches to healing.
My personal journey began with cannabis. It dulled the pain enough for me to start functioning again and opened the door to alternative therapies. I later explored yoga, which offered some relief but also led to new injuries. That led me to discover myofascial release techniques—an approach that changed everything. Through conscious movement, tension release, and body awareness, I finally found lasting relief and began living pain-free.
I became an expert in cannabis medicine, using plant-based therapies to support healing and wellness. I also studied Reiki and meditation, which helped me connect with the energetic and emotional layers of healing.
Today, I live pain-free and help others reconnect with their bodies through mindfulness, movement, and self-awareness. My journey is proof that healing is possible—and that it begins with listening to your body and trusting your path.
